Information we collect

The wiki administration is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at [email protected]. You can read articles, search the wiki, and use our calculators without creating an account.

When you visit, our servers and service providers process your IP address, requested pages, browser information, and request times to deliver and protect the site. Searches are processed by the wiki to return results. Search terms may appear in request logs and error reports.

Our calculators run in your browser. Your saved inputs remain on your device; we do not maintain a history of your calculations.

Cookies and preferences

We use functional cookies to remember your preferences and recent articles, support sign-in, and protect your account. You can block or clear them in your browser settings, but some parts of the wiki may not work as expected.

Local storage

Your browser remembers display preferences, recent searches, calculator inputs, your analytics choice, and information used to manage your session. You can clear this data in your browser settings.

Discord sign-in and accounts

If you sign in with Discord, we receive your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar. We use these details to create and manage your wiki account. Signing in does not automatically grant editing or administrative access.

We request basic profile access only and do not request your email address from Discord. Your account uses an internal placeholder address based on your Discord ID. We do not retain the Discord access token used to retrieve your profile. Accounts managed directly by an administrator may contain an email address.

We also use Discord profile details to manage contributor access and credits. Public contributor profiles may display your credited name, role, and avatar.

Feedback, contributions, and public credits

When you send feedback through our Discord bot, we keep your submission, Discord user ID, relevant server and channel details, related article information, and review records. Wiki staff use this information to respond to corrections, manage requests, and prevent abuse.

Edits and media submissions are recorded with their contributor and review history. Your credited name and contributions may appear publicly in article history and on the credits page. Private account email addresses are not displayed as contributor credits.

Analytics and error reporting

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics helps us understand which pages people visit and how they use the wiki. Google may receive page views, referrers, browser and device details, and online identifiers. It does not load unless you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings.

We use self-hosted GlitchTip error and performance reports to diagnose problems. These may include error details, page addresses, and browser information. Performance traces are sampled at about 1%. We do not record session replays.

External services and media

Cloudflare helps deliver the wiki, cache its pages, and protect it against abuse. It processes connection information, including IP addresses and request details. Discord processes sign-in and bot interactions. Contributor avatars may load from Discord, which then receives the connection information needed to deliver those images.

YouTube videos load only when you choose to play them. We use YouTube privacy-enhanced embeds. Playback connects your browser to YouTube and allows it to process information about your device and viewing activity. Video thumbnails are delivered through our image service.

Fonts are hosted by the wiki, so loading them does not send requests to Google Fonts. External links, including our Discord community invite, lead to services with their own privacy policies.

Our hosting, security, analytics, and backup providers may process information in other countries. International transfers are subject to applicable data protection requirements. Details of the safeguards for a particular transfer can be requested at [email protected].

Storage, backups, and retention

We store account details, submissions, and wiki content on our server and keep off-site database and media backups using Google Drive. Access to private account and feedback records is restricted to authorized staff.

Account and feedback records do not have a fixed automatic deletion period. You can request deletion at [email protected]. We consider whether information remains necessary to manage contributions, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations, and whether it can be deleted or anonymized.

Article history retains up to 200 versions per article. Revision history and security audit records help preserve attribution and the integrity of the wiki. These records may remain after an account is deleted, subject to applicable data protection rights. Existing backup copies are not immediately removed when a live record is deleted.

Retention periods for operational logs, diagnostics, and backups vary by system. Contact us for information about the records relevant to your request.

Why we process personal information

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating a reliable wiki, securing accounts, preventing abuse, reviewing feedback, and preserving accurate contribution records. We consider these interests alongside your privacy rights. Processing needed to provide an account or a service you request may also be necessary to perform our agreement with you.

Where consent is required, including for non-essential analytics cookies, consent is the applicable basis. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. We may also retain or disclose information where required by law.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, or a portable copy. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

You can exercise these rights by emailing [email protected]. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the authority where you live or work. Your contribution license does not waive your data protection rights.
